Ken Yoshino, D.P.T., A.T.C. – Clinic Director (Irvine location) and CEO of ACIC
Dr.
Yoshino graduated with a Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from Boston
University. He also possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy
from California State University, Long Beach, and a National Certification
in Athletic Training. Dr. Yoshino has over 30 years of experience as
a Staff Supervisor and Chief Administrator of a physical therapy practice.
He has completed extensive work in orthopedic, pre-surgery, post-surgery,
conditioning, and preventative care. His concentration is in working

Charles Fehrenbach, P.T., A.T.C. – Clinic Director (Foothill Ranch location)
Charles
completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences at the University
of California, Irvine. He also obtained a Master’s Degree in Physical
Therapy from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, PA. Charles is
a part-time instructor for California State University in Long Beach
and has been the Clinic Director of the Foothill Ranch ACIC location
since 1997.
Brett Eirich, P.T., A.T.C. – Clinic Director (Tustin location)
Brett obtained a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University Medical School, and a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Physical Education/Health from California State University, Fullerton. He has been the Clinic Director of the Physical Therapy Center of Tustin, an affiliate of ACIC Physical Therapy, since 1993. Brett has over 20 years of experience in the field with an emphasis in orthopedics, sports medicine, and manual therapy. He enjoys teaching as well, and has clinical affiliations with Chapman University, CSU Long Beach, and USC.
John Dougherty, P.T.A., A.T.C. – Director of Athletic Training, Physical Therapist Assistant, Athletic Trainer
John
is the director of operations for our Mission Viejo location. He attended
California State University, Long Beach and graduated in 1996 with
a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Kinesiology. He completed his
Physical Therapist Assistant program at Cerritos College in 2006,
and has been an active practitioner of sport medicine for 12 years.
In addition to his work in the clinic, John remains active as one
of our Directors of Athletic Training, through which he recruits new
additions to our athletic training team
Brenda Madsen, D.P.T., O.C.S. – Physical Therapist
Brenda graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Biology in 1995 and further attended the University of Southern California where she obtained her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 1999. After practicing outpatient orthopedics at ACIC Tustin for 4 years, Brenda completed the yearlong weekend Kaiser Orthopedic Residency Program and obtained her OCS credential and the title Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. Brenda is currently adjunct faculty at Orange Coast College where she teaches Anatomy Lab, and she also serves as a Clinical Instructor for Physical Therapy Interns under ACIC's affiliations with USC, Chapman, Western, and CSULB.
Sibylle A. Mehta, P.T.L.A. – Physical Therapist
Sibylle is an Austrian-trained physical therapist specializing in physiotherapy of various spinal conditions. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from the prestigious Academy Thim van der Laan in Switzerland and completed her thesis regarding the impact of gymnastics on young athletes. She worked in Switzerland and Austria before coming to the United States. In addition to her experience as a physical therapist, she has an extensive background in gymnastics and was the All-Austrian Grand Champion.

Suzanne M. Perry, P.T. – Physical Therapist
Suzanne graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 1985 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Physical Therapy. Suzanne has been practicing physical therapy for over 20 years. She has been a member of ACIC’s physical therapy team for eight years: seven as a senior physical therapist at the Foothill Ranch office. Suzanne has an extensive background in orthopedic rehabilitation and remains heavily involved in post-graduate training and continuing education courses. Suzanne’s repertoire of therapy techniques includes manual joint mobilizations, muscle energy techniques, and soft tissue mobilization, among others. Her areas of interest include injuries related to postural dysfunction, biomechanics and postural education as a means for injury prevention, and total body balance training.
Andrew Steele, D.P.T. – Physical Therapist
Dr. Steele completed his undergraduate curriculum in Psychology at George Fox University in Oregon. He furthered his academic career by obtaining a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology at Rosemead School of Psychology, and a Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California. Dr. Steele has a professional interest in the orthopedic treatment of students and athletes, particularly runners and jumpers. Other areas of interest include working with the geriatric population to improve general strength and balance, the treatment of shoulder girdle overuse syndromes, and post-surgical low back rehabilitation.

Cara Doone - Receptionist
It is very likely that when you come to our Irvine facility, Cara will be the first person you meet. She is known for her friendliness and her timely responsiveness to any concerns that you may have. Cara is a fourth year student at California State University, Fullerton. She is pursuing a degree in Child and Adolescent Development.
Aya Felling, M.A., A.T.C., C.S.C.S. – Patient Representative, Athletic Trainer, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
Aya has been in the field for 7 years. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology at the University of Connecticut. She received her Master’s Degree in Human Performance from San Jose State University after completing her thesis on High School Administrators’ Views of the Roles and Responsibilities of Athletic Trainers. Aya has an active interest in preventative medicine, as well as overall health and wellness. She has a National Certification in Athletic Training and Strength and Conditioning. Along with working as the Head Athletic Trainer at El Toro High School, Aya is our Patient Representative at the clinic. Caprice M. Leonard, M.A., A.T.C., C.M.T. – Director of Athletic Training, Athletic Trainer, Certified Massage Therapist
Caprice completed her undergraduate curriculum in Kinesiology at San Francisco State University, and her graduate work in Sports Medicine from San Jose State University. She also completed her coursework in massage therapy from the California College of Physical Arts and obtained a National Certification in Massage Therapy. Caprice also has a National Certification in Athletic Training, and puts that to use at University High School where she has been the Head Athletic Trainer for 4 years. In addition to her work at the high school, Caprice acts as one of our Directors of Athletic Training for ACIC and is responsible for the recruitment of new athletic trainers for the ACIC team.
